Jubilation at Vienna City Hall – the second year of the interdisciplinary Master's course “International Relations and Urban Policy” (IRUP) ended successfully and was duly celebrated in the building's Coat of Arms Hall. A total of 17 graduates received their diplomas by the Rector of FH Campus Wien, Heimo Sandtner, and represented all the partner cities where the City of Vienna's International Offices operate.
Marcus Schober, member of the Vienna City Council and the Vienna Provincial Parliament, congratulated the students on behalf of the city, the Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, and the Executive City Councillor for Finance, Business and International Affairs, Peter Hanke. With graduates from Iraq and Austria, students from outside the city network of the International Offices were also represented - keeping in line with the purpose of the Master´s course. After all, international networking is one of the focal points of the IRUP course at FH Campus Wien.
Praise also came from the Iraqi Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Hussen Baker Fattah, who honoured the students' work with a speech. Course spokesperson Amina Karahodzic from the Municipal Department for District Planning and Land Use (MA 21) once again emphasized the special nature of the course, but also the challenges associated with it. This English-language Master's programme, which was developed in cooperation with the City of Vienna, focuses on urban diplomacy, political management, political science and administration.
